Education was not always a priority in her community, and many children struggled to stay in school. After school hours, or during special activities or meal programs, there were few opportunities for students to receive extra support. But Bianka often wondered how she could contribute to the change she wanted to see but didn’t know where to begin.

As the after-school program grew, so did her confidence and leadership. When the Youth Committee coordinator stepped down, the community saw Bianka’s potential and asked her to take the role. Though nervous, Bianka embraced the opportunity, continuing to guide the children and encourage them to pursue their education. Her dedication to helping others reflected the very heart of the Youth Committee’s purpose: supporting the long-term success of the community.
