Surgical Mission Trips

By using our gifts to serve others, we act as good stewards of God’s grace. If you are a medical professional, consider joining us on a surgical medical trip, where your unique talents will transform lives. In partnership with local hospitals and the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health (MINSA), dedicated medical professionals volunteer their time to provide surgical services to Nicaraguans in need

We host several surgical mission trips throughout the year and are always in need of general surgeons, urologists, gynecologists, ophthalmologists, anesthesiologists, orthopedic surgeons, nurses, technicians, translators, and other medical personnel.

Call the Amigos office or email to inquire about the dates and available positions for surgical mission trips.

Once you’ve decided on a trip and purchased your plane ticket, you will need to complete your online registration and make your Mission Trip Contribution at least two months prior to your departure in order to be allowed to work in Nicaraguan hospitals.

When you register for your surgical mission trip, you’ll need to provide the following documents:

  • Copies of current medical licenses
  • Copies of all medical diplomas
  • Curriculum vitae or resume using this template
  • Copy of Passport photo page
  • Inventory of all medical supplies you plan on bringing into the country using this spreadsheet.
