You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love.
Servant Leader Program
As an organization, Amigos for Christ seeks to make Jesus visible to every person that comes into contact with our ministry. To further this vision, every summer we host 1,000+ short term missionaries who come for a week at a time to provide support to our projects, whether that’s digging ditches building bathrooms, visiting our friends at the assisted living home or making PB&J’s. Meanwhile, it is our hope that they would encounter God in new and transformative ways during their stay with us.
For all of this to happen effectively, Amigos for Christ welcomes a team of extended-stay volunteers into our family called Servant Leaders every summer to work alongside our staff providing program support and spiritual guidance to our visiting weeklong missionaries. Whether you’re interested in spending three weeks or three months serving in Nicaragua, you’ll have the opportunity to become an essential part of building God’s kingdom and spreading his love among our Nicaraguan, as well as our American, brothers and sisters this summer. You’ll also be challenged to grow emotionally and spiritually by our staff, mission groups, and community members. Pretty awesome, right?
Long Term Servant Leaders
As a Long Term Servant Leader, you will work alongside our full-time staff in order to serve our weeklong missionaries and position our projects to thrive. You will be given specific tasks to help support the various areas of our Missions Team, be challenged physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and have the opportunity to experience and reflect the love and humility of a servant’s heart in powerful ways.
You will help share the voice of Amigos for Christ within the guidelines of our Marketing Plan.
Short Term Servant Leaders
As a Short Term Servant Leader, it will be your distinct pleasure and responsibility to make sure every group member feels welcomed and cared for during his or her visit, especially when they’re kicking it at the Amigos Complex after the workday. Not only do our Short-Termers stay with and experience each Mission Week alongside the groups, they also are masters at leading the charge on making 100 perfect PB&Js, cleaning a few extra dirty dishes, or organizing an impromptu ping pong tournament extravaganza after dinner – basically, all the little things that take a good week and make it completely awesome.
